SAUGERTIES – Four people are dead
following a one-car crash in Saugerties late Wednesday morning.

The dead, all men in their mid-20s, were Ulster County residents, said
Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra. They were in a car driven by Meredith
McSpirit, 19, of Kingston, who the chief said was airlifted to Albany
Medical Center with a spinal injury. She is in the intensive care unit.

The fatal victims were identified as Kaireem Meeks, Jr., 24, of Kingston;
Jante Clark, 26, of Kingston; Dante Crump, 22, of Kingston; and Adam McQueen,
22, of Ulster Park.

Sinagra said the car failed to negotiate a curve, went 150 down an embankment,
crashed into a house rolling over on its roof and causing enough damage
for the structure to be declared uninhabitable.

All four victims were pronounced dead at the scene on Dock Street.

The State Police Accident Reconstruction Team is aiding in the investigation
into the cause of the crash, one of the worst Sinagra said he has seen
in his career as a police officer.
