CATSKILL – A Palenville woman, who was a member of a Greene County grand jury, has been charged with felony unlawful grand jury disclosure.
Rowena Baldwin, 61, while at a local business in the Village of Catskill allegedly disclosed information regarding testimony, identity of an accused suspect and results of proceedings that are required by law to be kept secret.
Grand jury proceedings must remain secret to protect witnesses who provide information about crimes, protection of victims of crimes and protection of police officers whose responsibility it is to arrest those who should not yet be aware of their indictment, authorities noted.
Baldwin was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Catskill Village Court.
