MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s
Office will receive $15,000 from the state to purchase equipment to assist
in law enforcement efforts throughout the county.

“Our local law enforcement officials are faced with difficult challenges
every day – from protecting the public, to managing costs –
and providing the necessary tools for police officers to protect and serve
the public has always been a top priority of mine,” said State Senator
John Bonacic (R, Mt. Hope), who secured the grant. “These funds
will help ensure that the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office can continue
its mission of protecting the county residents.”

Sheriff Michael Schiff said the money “will help us to improve our
law enforcement capabilities as we work to revitalize our county as a
resort and tourism destination.”
