KINGSTON – The Broadway property that
once housed the welfare hotel the Kings Inn drew no offers to buy it.
Tuesday was the deadline for proposals to be submitted and none were presented,
which was not a big surprise to Kingston Mayor Shayne Gallo.
The mayor was hoping to receive some interest by developers willing to
build a mixed use project on the site, but that did not come to pass.
A businessman who is in the final process of purchasing the property across
from UPAC has expressed informal interest in the Kings Inn property.
Gallo said he is considering listing the site with the realtor the city
hired to market other properties in hopes of securing a serious buyer.
