STOCKPORT – A Stockport man may not be driving for some time after being arrested Monday night for the fifth time in a two-month span for driving while being impaired by drugs.
Columbia County Sheriff’s investigators, who were in the area of route 9 and Atlantic Avenue in the Town of Stockport, observed a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner. The vehicle was crossing over the center line several times causing a hazard to oncoming traffic.
Police say they stopped the car and found the driver, Christopher Miller, 51, appearing to be confused and with slurred speech. He failed field sobriety tests at the scene.
Miller was arrested that afternoon and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, driving without a license, and failure to keep right.  He is in the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.
