National Heritage Area awards over $28,000 to historic, cultural groups

ALBANY – The Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area has awarded $28,414 to organizations in support of educational and interpretive programs that will showcase the area’s history and contribute to its heritage tourism economy.
Acting National Heritage Area Director Mark Castiglione said the grants are aimed at promoting the Hudson Valley’s history and natural resources.
“Grant awards range from marketing projects to projects that seek to connect people to open spaces and introduce the youth to agriculture traditions of the Hudson Valley,” Castiglione said.
The seven recipients are:

Friends of Clermont
Thomas Cole National Historic Site
Olana Partnership,
Friends of the Landscape and Arboretum Project at Bard College
Albany County Historical Society,
Albany Institute of History and Art,
Shaker Heritage Society.
