KINGSTON – Former Ulster County Legislature Chairwoman Terry Bernardo announced she will run for county executive.   So has Donald Wise.
Both said they were not given an opportunity to speak at the county GOP’s nominating convention on Wednesday evening.
No one was nominated to run against incumbent Democrat Michael Hein.
The Republican candidate in the general election will apparently be decided in the September primary.   Candidates will now have to muster enough valid petition signatures. Bernardo has begun the petition process. Wise said he is not sure if he will go the petition route.
No word, at this time, on whether other Republicans might run.
