TOWN OF WALLKILL – The newest senior assisted living residence in Orange County was formally dedicated Thursday.
The 130-apartment Braemar at Wallkill on Rykowski Lane in the Town of Wallkill celebrated its grand opening with a host of residents and public officials.
One highlight to Town Supervisor Daniel Depew was one resident who grew up at that location and has now returned.
“One of them as a young lady – Gloria Rykowski – grew up on Rykowski on the farm, now is able to return in her retirement to Rykowski Lane at Braemar in the Town of Wallkill to enjoy her retirement in their new assisted living facility,” Depew said.  “It’s great to have her back as a Wallkillian and it’s great to offer that possibility to some many folks entering the retirement years of their life here.”
The new apartments are furnished and include an on-site wellness center, outdoor recreation areas and restaurant-style dining.
