KINGSTON – A Highland man was sentenced to 3 ½ to seven years in state prison by Ulster County Court Judge Donald Williams on his conviction to aggravated criminal contempt as a felony. Ronald Wood, 43, was also sentenced to 1 1/3 to four years on a revocation of his previous sentence for criminal contempt.
Wood and his victim had an extensive domestic violence history.
In violation of an order of protection issued by county court and over a two-day period, Wood repeatedly punched the victim in the face and body causing bruising and swelling.
At the time of the assault, Wood was on felony probation for a previous conviction of criminal contempt for punching the same victim while an order of protection was in effect.
