NEW YORK – An investigation that began in October 2014 following a heroin overdose in Sullivan County led to the identification of a wholesale drug organization based in the Bronx and Washington Heights section of Manhattan.
The drug group supplied local dealers in New York City, Sullivan, Orange, Westchester, Albany and Long Island.
Five members of the drug trafficking network were arrested on Wednesday and authorities seized 12 kilograms of heroin – over 26 pounds – worth at least $5 million, plus $115,000 in cash, two guns and drug paraphernalia.
The collaborative effort by the DEA, State Police, NYPD, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Passaic County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office and Nassau County Police resulted in the arrests of: Orlando Rosario-Concepcion, 38, of Paterson, New Jersey; and four Manhattan men – Rodolofo Abreu-Crisotomo, 31; Jonathan Almonte, 27; Jean Carlos Rosario-Ortiz, 27; and Deckson Holguin-Rosario, 24.
They were all charged with the highest count of felony drug possession
and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
