Blaze destroys Hopewell hardware store

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Firefighters from nine departments battled a major fire that destroyed the William Tell Hardware store on Route 82 in Hopewell Junction.
The blaze was called in around 11 p.m. Saturday and burned well into Sunday keeping firefighters busy for some nine hours. One firefighter sustained minor injuries.
The fire gutted the entire structure, which ultimately had to be torn down.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
