NEWBURGH – Volunteers on Wednesday raised the first walls of its second Veterans Build house, this one at 54 Clark Street in the City of Newburgh.

The home is one of three going up on the same block in Newburgh

Veterans Build is a national initiative of Habitat for Humanity International and this latest project in Newburgh makes house number 77 for the local group, said Executive Director Cathy Collins.
“We believe that people who have given so much service to our country are deserving of affordable and decent homes and that is often not the case unfortunately for our veterans and so we at Habitat want to do something about that,” Collins said.
Habitat is also constructing homes number 78 and 79 on the same block.
