Kingston man charged with stabbing two people

KINGSTON – City Police in Kingston charged a Kingston man with felony assault after he allegedly stabbed two people with a knife early Friday morning.
Kariym Jamal Charles, 28, of 106 West Chestnut Street is in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
Kingston police responded to a report of a stabbing at 106 West Chestnut around 2:25 a.m. and responding officers and other emergency personnel found one person in front of the residence with stab wounds. A second person was located inside the residence, also with stab wounds.
Both victims were treated at the scene by Kingston Fire Department and Mobile Life Support Services personnel and were transported to the emergency room at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley on Broadway. One victim was transferred to Albany Medical Center and the other was treated and released.
The incident is still under investigation and additional charges and arrests are possible, police said.
