One dead in minibus-ambulette crash

WEST NYACK – A collision between a minibus carrying two passengers and an ambulette carrying one passenger left one person dead.
The 2:30 p.m. Thursday accident at the intersection of Route 303 and Palisades Center Drive in West Nyack killed a 48-year-old male passenger in the ambulette . His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
Clarkstown Police said all passengers and drivers were transported to Nyack Hospital where the victim died. The others sustained injuries that were deemed not to be life threatening.
Police at the scene investigated to determine contributing factors and the cause of the accident.
Traffic in the area was closed southbound at Palisades Center Drive North and Route 303 for several hours.
