MIDDLETOWN – The City of Middletown is in the process of developing a government efficiency plan.
Mayor Joseph DeStefano said when implemented, it will mean a savings for city taxpayers.
“This is part of the governor’s plan to merge and consolidate services and have a savings on the local government level and the state would kick in to make sure that local property taxes are stable for those communities that comply with the tax cap and file and are able to implement a local efficiency plan,” DeStefano said. “We are working with other communities trying to put together a savings for both communities.”
The plan is due June 1.
