KINGSTON – Kingston resident Jennifer
Schwartz Berky announced Saturday that she is a candidate for Ulster County
legislator in the Seventh District. She will run for the seat currently
held by Legislator Jeannette Provenzano, who is not seeking re-election
so she can run for alderman-at-large in the City of Kingston.
Berky has served as deputy director of planning in Ulster County Government
where she wrote the county’s open space plan, secured grant funding
for county projects, was the county’s coordinator of the charter
commission, and founded the county’s Main Street program.
County Legislator David Donaldson said fellow Democrat Berky “will
be an excellent candidate and legislator.
