POUGHKEEPSIE – The Democratic field for Poughkeepsie mayor is getting crowded. Businessman Kenneth Levinson will kick off his campaign on Thursday at the Poughkeepsie train station.
Currently, school board member Randall Johnson and city Alderman Robert Mallory, have announced, setting up at least a three-way Democrat primary.
Levinson, who manages a business that rehabilitates underutilized housing in Poughkeepsie, worked for IBM for 13 years in marketing, planning, forecasting and management.  He holds a master’s degree in finance and feels his education and years of forecasting and planning would translate in more accurate city budgets and better financial management.
“The city’s cash flow crisis can best be addressed by prudent financial management,” Levinson said.
On the Republican side, Dutchess County Legislature Chairman Robert Rolison
andf Jere Tierney are both announced candidates.
