KINGSTON – Detectives from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
Deputies received a complaint from the girl’s parents alleging the relationship with Jonathan Santiago.
The complaint was turned over to the detective unit and through the investigation it was determined that Santiago, 28, had met the girl through Facebook and had consensual sex with her on several occasions.
Santiago was arrested on Friday night at his residence and was charged with rape and criminal sexual act, both as felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child as a misdemeanor. He was released on his own recognizance and a full stay-away order of protection was served on him during his arraignment.
