CLAVERACK – A Stottville man is in the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash bail or $60,000 bond last Friday after he was found in possession of an estimated 45 grams of cocaine.
Michael Makoske was charged with felony drug possession and a misdemeanor for resisting arrest.
He was a passenger in a car on Route 66 when troopers stopped it for the driver’s failure to dim her high-beams to on-coming traffic. She was issued traffic tickets.  Officers interviewed Makoske at which point a struggle ensured and he fled on foot. While he was running from police, a bag was seen falling from his pant leg. It was later determined to contain cocaine.
State Police, with assistance from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, searched for Makoske and with the aid of a K-9, he was tracked into the woods where he emerged and was taken into custody without incident.
