LOCH SHELDRAKE – The SUNY Sullivan Board of Trustees did not approve the school’s 2015-16 budget of more than $19 million. The spending plan went down by a four-to-three vote on Thursday.
The budget included student revenue of over $4.5 million, a county contribution of $4.3 million, chargeback revenue of $2.5 million from other counties in the state, state aid of over $3.4 million, and restricted revenue including capital projects matching funds and grants of $2 million.
A special board of trustees session will be held next Wednesday to further discuss the budget.
Once approved by the college trustees, the county legislature must give its stamp of approval.
The college budget briefly came up during Thursday’s meeting of the county legislature Management and Budget Committee when citizen Ken Walter urged the legislature to increase its financial support for the college.
