TOWN OF WALLKILL – Valley Agriceuticals’ medical marijuana operation proposed in the Town of Wallkill has the support of the town board.
Local lawmakers voted to endorse the project at their workshop session Wednesday night, Town Supervisor Daniel Depew said.
“The resolution was very intricate,” said Depew.  “It laid out very, very rigorous guidelines that the company, Valley Agriceuticals, would have to adhere to, and also met many of the concerns of what the residents out in that area had.  We are just very happy at this point to be able to move forward and support Valley Agriceuticals’ project in the Town of Wallkill.”
The state has approved the use of medical marijuana and will select five sites for farms with another five locations for distribution centers. Valley Agriceuticals hopes to win the state’s okay to be one of the growing facilities. It would house its operations on 10 acres of a 70-acre parcel in Wallkill.
