Lopez: weighing his options
SCHOHARIE – State Assemblyman Peter Lopez (R-Schoharie), said he
is considering a run for US Congress in the seat being vacated by Congressman
Christopher Gibson.
Lopez said he is weighing his options and has not made a decision at this
time.
“The most important aspect, of course, is making sure that family
is comfortable and that they feel that there is a fit and then looking
at the financial team and looking at all of the other aspects of serving
an 11-county district, raging $2-$4 million every two years and running
back and forth to Washington,” he told MidHudsonNews.com.
A Draft Pete Lopez for Congress Facebook page has been created, but the
assemblyman said he has yet to make a decision about his political future.
