PLEASANT VALLEY – State Police identified the victim in a fatal car-pedestrian accident on Friday night as a Pleasant Valley man.
A car driven by a Clinton Corners woman struck Kenneth Seiferheld, 66, and Nelly Umpierre, 53, both of Pleasant Valley. Seiferheld was killed, while Umpierre remained in critical, but stable condition at the hospital.
Police said heavy rain and dense fog were contributed factors to the crash on Route 44 in the area of Timothy Heights where the two pedestrians were reported fighting in the road.
State Police were assisted by the Pleasant Valley Fire Department. The incident remains under investigation.
