TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The Holiday
Inn Express on Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie plans to perform some
$3 million in renovations and is asking the Dutchess County Industrial
Development Agency for financial assistance.

The hotel owner, Poughkeepsie Hospitality, LLC, is seeking a mortgage
tax and sales tax exemption on the upgrade.

The IDA, which discussed the proposal last week, took no action pending
further discussion at its next session.

IDA Executive Director Cathy Maloney said the hotel owners most perform
the upgrades in order to maintain their brand.
