NEW CITY – A Pomona man was sentenced in Rockland County State Supreme Court Thursday to 12 years to life in state prison after pleading guilty to a charge of felony attempted burglary.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on July 14, 2014, Jude Bonneau, 50, of 45 Parkway Trailer Court in Pomona, broke into a home on New County Road in Airmont. An alert homeowner got the license plate of the car he was driving. A short time later, Bonneau broke into another home a few blocks away on Laura Drive in Airmont. He knocked on the door and when no one answered, believing no one was home, he broke in through a downstairs window. At that point, he was confronted by the homeowner, who was inside but did not answer the door.
Bonneau fled in the same car that had been spotted earlier.
Ramapo Police investigated the break-ins, located and arrested him.
