Pratt gets about $54 million, after taxes

MONTICELLO – Sullivan County is turning out to be the luckiest
place in the state. The second multi-million dollar state Lottery winner
in two months was introduced on Wednesday.
Tammy Pratt of South Fallsburg was the sole winner of the $126 million
Mega Millions jackpot drawing of February 27. She is the second Sullivan
County winner in recent weeks as Harold Diamond of Wurtsboro won a $326
million Mega Millions jackpot in January.
Pratt, a real estate broker, bought her winning ticket at the Mobil gas station in South Fallsburg.
Pratt said that she only plays the lottery when either the Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot is $100 million or above. Normally, she said, she will only purchase one ticket but, after seeing Diamond’s win, decided to buy four Mega Millions tickets and a Powerball since he had said he purchased 10 tickets when he won.
“I saw that the person who won the ticket was from my town so I got very excited and I ran to my husband and said the person who won the lottery was from our town,” Pratt said Wednesday.  “I looked to where I bought the ticket and said, ‘it’s probably me’.”
She said it was lucky that she bought more than one ticket because her
winning numbers were on the second of her Mega Millions lines.
Pratt will take her money in one lump sum, which will translate to $81.6 million, netting some $54 million after taxes.
As to what she will do with her new found wealth, “I’m going to take some time to think about my plans for my family and for the future,” she said.
The winning numbers were 07, 49, 53, 60, 64 and Mega Ball 04.
