Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff visits alma mater

GOSHEN – The chairman of the Joint
Chiefs of Staff, US Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, paid a visit to his high
school alma mater, John S. Burke Catholic High School today (Monday).

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is the principal military advisory
to the President of the United States, Secretary of Defense, and the National
Security Council.

He addressed an assembly of students at the school.

Gen. Dempsey graduated from Burke in 1970. He delivered the commencement
address to Burke graduates in June 2012.

Dempsey is also a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point.
