GOSHEN – Orange County Legislator Shannon Wong believes community activist Vincent Ferri of the Town of Wallkill went too far when he drafted a flyer criticizing her for her support of the county retaining ownership of the county government center in Goshen. Apparently so do law enforcement officials. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has charged him with aggravated harassment.
Ferri used pictures of bloody hands and arms, a hand with a dagger, and photos of Wong and himself.
Wong couldn’t believe the artwork in the one-page “Goshen Saga” flyer that is circulating on the Net.
“I was definitely taken aback and I couldn’t quite shake it for a little bit,” Wong said. “I thought they were pretty intense images.  My [15-year-old] daughter walked by and she was definitely struck by it and it occurred to me that my home address is on the county website, and just to be better safe than sorry. I am perfectly willing for people to contact me by email and phone, but this is a little scary; the images are a little too intense.”
Ferri’s reaction to Wong’s belief that the images on the flyer
were too intense was, “That’s too bad. She is a public official
and is doing something that is going to hurt Goshen.”
