Bronx man charged with cashing counterfeit checks stealing over $3,500

WAPPINGER – A 29-year-old Bronx man
has been remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu bail for allegedly
cashing several counterfeit checks at the Tompkins Mahopac Bank branches
in LaGrange and East Fishkill.

State Police at Wappinger said Byron Kempson allegedly cashed the forged
checks totaling some $3,547.

He was arraigned and remanded in lieu of $40,000 cash bail or $80,000
bond.
