MONTICELLO – A Brooklyn woman is in the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond following a stabbing over a noise complaint on Saturday in Monticello.
Police said Natesha Marshall, 21, was charged with felony assault and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon.
Shortly before 11 a.m., police were called to building 20 at the Sleepy Hollow apartments on Terry Lane and found a 37-year-old male resident bleeding heavily from several stab wounds to the head, face and back.  The victim was flown to Westchester Medical Center.
Monticello Police quickly learned that a female suspect had fled the scene in a taxicab just prior to police arriving and that she had been dropped off at an apartment on York Avenue. Police were able to track her down by following a blood trail leading to a door where Marshall had entered.
After several minutes of the officers outside, Marshall came out and surrendered. She was treated and released at Catskill Regional Medical Center for injuries she sustained to her hands and head during the incident at the Terry Lane location.
Police investigation showed that Marshall, who was staying in an apartment below the victim in the same building, had gone to the victim’s apartment to confront him over a noise complaint.
Marshall and the victim got into a dispute that quickly escalated when Marshall began to stab the victim repeatedly with a kitchen knife she had brought from her own apartment.  The victim was able to fight off Marshall with the assistance of his wife and take away the knife. The weapon was recovered at the scene.
Monticello Police were assisted at the scene by Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies and State Police.
