TOWN OF ULSTER – The woman who was struck by a train as she walked adjacent to railroad tracks in the Town of Ulster on February 11, remains in the hospital in critical but stable condition.
Train operators saw the woman, Ashlee Crescione, 21, of the Town of Ulster, who was walking along the tracks and sounded their horn several times, Police Chief Anthony Cruise said on Friday, following investigation into the incident.
“For an unknown reason she failed to move away from the tracks,” Cruise said, noting she was not intentionally trying to be struck. “There was no evidence to suggest that she couldn’t hear the horn, and those answers may not be known.”
The train was northbound when the 11:50 a.m. accident occurred just south of the Boices Lane crossing.
