Four charged in Mount Hope armed robbery, assault

MOUNT HOPE – For Middletown men are in the Orange County Jail without bail following an armed home invasion robbery in Mount Hope Thursday night.  Arrested were Albert Reed, Jr., 22; Jeremy Monroe, 30; angel Cardona, 34; and Daniel Degroat, 24, all of Middletown.
Police investigated and determined that three masked men armed with knives forcibly entered a residence on Newton Drive around 9:50 p.m. The occupants were ordered to lie on the floor while the robbers removed cash, jewelry and other property. A man living there was assaulted and stabbed on the right hand sustaining minor injury. He was treated at the scene.
Police got the suspects while they were spotted in a Jeep not far away. Officers saw them throwing an X-Box game system and other property from the moving vehicle.
