PAWLING – A Pawling man was killed Thursday night when his car ran off a Pawling road and struck an earth embankment.
Christopher Trimble, 46, alone in an SUV, was apparently northbound on Route 22 when he attempted to turn right onto Old Route 22, lost control, ran off the road and struck the embankment before coming to rest against a tree. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Police said speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the accident.
The Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Officer responded to the scene and assisted State Police with the investigation. Also on the scene were the Pawling Fire Department and Transcare Paramedics.
