KINGSTON – Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sahja Ector, 26, of Kingston on January 5, while attempting to enforce an eviction order.  Police say she barricaded herself and two children within the residence and refused to let deputies inside. Entry was made and Ector continued to resist deputies. She attempted to use the two children to shield deputies from arresting her and continued to resist arrest after the children were moved to safety.
Ector was charged with criminal mischief, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.
She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance to reappear at a later date in City of Kingston Court.
