Mary Jean Hawkins, 68, of Pleasant Valley, NY died unexpectedly on March 21st, 2024.
She was born in West Islip in 1955 to John and Mary Brush, staying the majority of her life in the home she grew up in. She married Michael Hawkins in 1981. Together they had two children, Jessica and John who Mary Jean stayed home with to raise.
Jessica and her wife Amy were blessed with their children, Jaxon and Jameson, in 2016. Mary Jean immediately fell in love with her new role as a grandmother, moving to Pleasant Valley soon after their birth to be closer to them. She enjoyed the slower pace of life upstate, helping to raise her grandsons and developing friendships within her community. Mary Jean welcomed all into her home and her life with open arms, finding joy in the little things that mean the most.
Visitation will be from 4pm – 7pm on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main Street, Pleasant Valley, NY 12569.
