Alexander W. Vellucci
November 25, 1940 – April 10, 2024

 

Alexander W. Vellucci, 83, a man of unwavering courage passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2024, in his St. Pete’s Beach, FL home.

He was born in Harlem, NY, on November 25, 1940, to the late Olindo and Mary (LaSalle) Vellucci.

Alexander met his future wife, Barbara F. Petrucci in Yonkers at a dance at Fort Hill Country Club. They were married in the Bronx on September 12, 1964, and were later blessed with the arrival of two wonderful daughters.

His education at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City instilled into him a deep understanding of justice, the courage to preserve that, a commitment to his community and the importance of building a strong foundation.

An extremely proud Veteran, Alexander served his nation in the United States Army with an unwavering sense of duty. Continuing his journey of service, when he joined the New York City Department of Corrections, where he served as a Corrections Officer.

Upon retiring, he channeled his passion for life towards the more serene setting of St. Pete’s Beach, FL where the sunny shores offered a backdrop for leisure and love for the ocean.

Alexander is survived by his two loving daughters, Barbara Gerdts and her husband Edward, and Laura Vellucci, along with his treasured grandchildren, Amanda, Edward, Jr., Brooke and Jake.

Alexander was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara F. Vellucci in 2023 and his dear sister Catherine Amicaro.

A Graveside Ceremony and Blessing for Alexander Vellucci will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 101 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY. Will U.S. Army Military Honors.

All family and friends are welcome to gather at Rose Hills office prior to service to follow the procession to graveside.
