COVID-19 positive cases continue in area colleges

MID-HUDSON – All classes at Marist College in Poughkeepsie are on pause, which will be reassessed on Friday, March 26 to see if restrictions will be lifted. 

From March 8 through March 23, a total of 5,524 tests were conducted at Marist with 260 total positive cases including 257 students and three employees.

Active cases total 170 with 85 people at home/off-campus and 85 on-campus in isolation space.

At SUNY New Paltz, there have been 164 students and 26 employees with positive cases in the on-campus populations since January 1.

Thirteen students and one employee have tested positive in the most recent testing. Five tests were administered on campus, and nine were administered off-campus.

Two students are isolated on campus. The other 11 students and the employee are isolated off-campus.

Forty-nine cases are currently classified as active in the on-campus community. Sixteen students are presently in isolation on campus, and 26 students are in quarantine off-campus.
