ALBANY – Legoland in Goshen is planning to open this coming summer season now that Governor Cuomo has announced that outdoor amusement parks can open with a 33 percent capacity limit beginning Friday April 9.
Indoor family entertainment centers and places of amusement can open with a 25 percent capacity limit beginning on Friday, March 26.
Stephanie Johnson, divisional director of Legoland New York, that the approval from Albany means they “will be able to celebrate its grand opening this season as planned and we look forward to sharing more details soon.”
In both indoor and outdoor settings, health protocols must be adhered to including face coverings and social distancing for customers and staff and customers will be required to have a health screening with temperature checks prior to entry.
“Our first priority is always the health, safety and security of our guests and our team,” said Johnson.
Legoland had targeted July 4, 2020 as its grand opening date; however, the global pandemic put a stop to those plans as construction was halted for months.
