NEW WINDSOR –Assemblyman-elect
Collin Schmitt wants to dedicate his complete time to his newly elected
post when he goes to Albany in January. With that in mind, Schmitt resigned
effective immediately from his current job as chief of staff in the Town
of New Windsor.
“I have already reached out to local leaders across every town and village in the 99th Assembly District. We are putting together a transition committee as we speak and we are going to be announcing a bi-partisan, from all different backgrounds, transition committee to fully focus on this Assembly district and my service as a fulltime Assembly member,” he said on Wednesday.
Schmitt is taking over the Assembly seat currently held by James Skoufis, who was elected on Tuesday as a state senator in the 39th District, replacing the retiring William Larkin.
