KINGSTON – The first day of Ulster County COVID-19 vaccinations in Kingston on Monday saw 480 doses administered. Another 480 doses from the state are being administered today (Tuesday).
As with all other counties, the supply from the state is limited; Ulster had requested 4,000 doses initially and received a little under 1,000.
Deputy County Executive Marc Rider said persons wishing to be vaccinated must call for an appointment.
“If people are trying to make appointments, they should just have patience; the supply being so low. We opened the window this weekend on Saturday for the next Monday through Saturday and all appointments were booked in six hours,” he said.
Meanwhile, in Sullivan County, the first county-run vaccinations will be conducted on Wednesday, January 20. Clinics will be held weekly in January and then twice weekly beginning in mid-February, said County Public Health Director Nancy McGraw.
