POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department is hosting a drive-through “Winter Wonderland” today from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Public Safety Building on Main Street.

According to PBA President Kevin Van Wagner, the Community Policing Division has been working to provide a festive holiday event for the community.  “Our members understand the stresses caused by the pandemic and we wanted to give them something to brighten their spirits.”

Officers have been decorating the parking lot at the Public Safety Building at 505 Main Street with hundreds of lights and decorations that people can view from the confines of their vehicles.

Sources have told Mid Hudson News that Santa and one of his elves will be on the property to greet children of all ages.

The Poughkeepsie Fire Department is also assisting in the event by helping with decorations and some of their fire engines will be on display along with specialized police vehicles.
