Marist Names New CIO

POUGHKEEPSIE – Following a national search, Marist College named Michael Caputo as Chief Information Officer. His appointment begins July 29.

Caputo brings a wealth of experience to the position. Previously, he was the Chief Information Officer of the Medical University of South Carolina with responsibilities for both the university and health system. Prior to moving to Charleston, he served as the CIO of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, serving for a time as Deputy CIO for the University as well. In addition, he served as the Director of Information Systems and the Director of Telemedicine Operations at the University of Vermont’s College of Medicine, Project Executive of the C. Everett Koop Institute at Dartmouth and as a Project Scientist at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

A recipient of numerous awards, including NASA Certificates of Recognition, a Leadership Award from the NASA Administrator, and two United States Patents, Caputo also holds degrees from the Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Houston.
