CALLICOON – A Jeffersonville man was
struck and killed as he walked on Route 52 in Jeffersonville on Wednesday,
July 8, State Police said.
The investigation determined that a 2012 Dodge Caliber was being driven
eastbound on Route 52 just each of Willie Avenue when the pedestrian,
identified as Daniel Doherty, 62, entered the road in front of the vehicle
and was struck.
Doherty was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is continuing and police ask anyone who may have witnessed
the accident or have information that could assist in the investigation
