MONTICELLO – For the first time since COVID-19 forced the shutdown of all live events, Monticello raceway opened to live attendance by fans today (Wednesday).

The track reopened without fans last September and in recent weeks served as one of 14 pop-up community vaccination sites by the state.

“This is another greeat day that we’re excited to put on the calendar, and it marks yet another step forward in New York’s recovery,” said Meghan Taylor, vice president for government affairs and public relations for Resorts World Catskills.

Monticello Raceway is a sister facility to the nearby Resorts World Catskills casino in Kiamesha Lake.

Post time each day is 12:50 p.m. Patrons will be allowed to place bets using the betting booth on the track apron and watch the races live.

Social distancing and other COVID-19 safety measures will be enforced.
