NEWBURGH BEACON BRIDGE – About a dozen people blocked westbound traffic on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge at around 8:15 a.m. Monday as they stretched a banner across the lanes to draw attention to what they said are “the billions in U.S. military aid and funding Israeli war crimes.”

Many of the protestors got out of their vehicles and blocked traffic.

Bridge Authority spokesman Chris Steber said traffic was halted for about 25 minutes.

State Police responded and disbanded the protestors allowing traffic to flow freely again.
