WASHINGTON DC – Mid-Hudson’s Congressional Representatives are responding to the crisis in the Middle East following a recent attack on Israel launched from Iranian soil.

Congressman Mike Lawler (R, NY-17) didn’t mince words when it came to how he feels about Iran’s attack.  Lawler called out his Democratic colleagues who have been calling for a ceasefire.

“To my Democrat colleagues who have been calling for a ceasefire, or regime change in Israel, do you now understand the threat?  Iran and it’s proxies– Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis– are hellbent on eradicating Israel.  We cannot waiver or undermine their ability to defend themselves,” Lawler wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Congressman Pat Ryan (D, NY-18) expressed support for Israel on the platform X as well.  “Our support for Israel’s security is ironclad and unbreakable.  We must stand firmly with the Israeli people against this dangerous and unprecedented attack from Iran,” wrote Ryan.

Congressman Marc Molinaro (R, NY-19) expressed criticism of President Biden’s leadership in a media statement.  “When America blinks, our enemies take advantage.  They see the White House wavering and are seizing on the opportunity.   We cannot allow Israel, Taiwan, or Ukraine to fall. We must act to pass an aid package that allows our allies to fight back,”  Molinaro said.
