WEST POINT- The New York State Legislature has honored the U.S. Military Academy during the 72nd annual West Point Day in Albany.  New York State Senator James Skoufis, who represents West Point in the State Senate, invited West Point Senior Leaders and New York State Cadets to attend this year’s observance.

Lt. Gen. Steven Gilland led a delegation of officers, the Chaplain, the First Captain, and local cadets to accept the New York State Legislature’s proclamation.  They engaged with state leaders about the history and importance of West Point in developing future leaders of character.

There are 274 men and women of the United States Corps of Cadets who come from the state of New York.  West Point Day highlights their accomplishments, dedication, and service as members of neighboring communities.
