KERHONKSON – The man who allegedly attacked two female members of the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid squad has resigned from the organization.  David Linscott, squad president at the time but on leave, entered the premises on April 5, 2024, and began fighting with fellow members.

The fight, according to Daniel Knoth, the organization’s new president, was the result of a “current and active personnel matter.”  Sources tell Mid-Hudson News that the dispute was over a “fly car” that two squad members purchased with company funds without authorization.

The full Mid-Hudson News account of the incident shortly after it occurred can be found here.

At the time of the fight, Linscott was reported to be using a pipe as a weapon.

According to Knoth, Linscott was asked to leave the premises on April 5 but refused.  Instead, Linscott physically grabbed and shoved a female member and then attempted to “physically assault another female member,” according to Knoth.

The rescue squad president said members physically removed Linscott from the building before the arrival of state police and Ulster County deputies.  No weapon was found and no charges were filed against Linscott, who has since resigned from the rescue squad.

Stressing that the organization maintains a safe and secure environment for members and patients, Knoth said they are cooperating with authorities and reviewing security protocols.
