More than two kilos of drugs seized in Poughkeepsie traffic stop

POUGHKEEPSIE – Two men were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in the City of Poughkeepsie on Saturday at 12:55 a.m.  During the stop near the intersection of Maple Street (westbound arterial) and Innis Avenue, city cops discovered a substantial quantity of illegal drugs.

Justin Freytes, 34, of Poughkeepsie and 35-year-old Jari Brown, were arrested on the felony charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance after police found one kilogram of cocaine, one kilogram of fentanyl, and additional drugs that were separately packaged.

Both men were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held pending arraignment.

Agents from the Dutchess County Drug Task Force assisted the City of Poughkeepsie police with the arrests.
