SPRING VALLEY – Gunfire rang out just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday outside the Surrey Carlton Apartments on Ewing Avenue in the Village of Spring Valley with a victim rushed to the hospital, Spring Valley Police at the scene said.
Neighbors said they heard several gunshots; they estimate at least 10.
The entire apartment complex was roped off with yellow crime scene tape as detectives searched with flashlights looking for evidence.
Detectives were also seen inside a laundromat taking pictures and collecting evidence.
There was no word on a suspect or motive.
Spring Valley Police were assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and State Police.
